Tasting Room Manager
Pure Project – San Diego, CA

Pure Project is currently interviewing professionals for a full-time Tasting Room Manager. The Tasting Room Manager manages and maintains all aspects of the Tasting Room, while creating an engaging and authentic experience for all customers. The ideal candidate will be well versed in the craft alcohol industry as well as highly conversant on beverage styles and brewing techniques.

A key part of our business, our Tasting Room, is often the first place that people experience Pure Project. Because of this, we truly believe that the experience must be fantastic — from the service they receive, to the beverages they drink, to the space they drink it in.

  • Managing and scheduling of staff
  • Opening and closing.
  • Monitoring costs.
  • Oversee loss prevention.
  • Managing/forecasting on inventories of products and supplies.
  • Administrative knowledge and experience with ShopKeep POS System.
  • Delegate, oversee, and participate in cleaning and organizing tasks.
  • Conducts regular meetings with Tasting Room staff.
  • Working with the Marketing Dept. to schedule events and properly market the Taproom.
  • Meet financial objectives as they relate to overall goals, which include managing a set budget, daily/monthly sales reports, and cash flow.
  • Conducts periodic sanitation and standards audit based upon Health Department regulations

  • Creating and fostering productive vendor relationships.
  • Create training materials and checklists for tracking day-to-day activities.
  • All other day to day activities necessary to keep the Tasting Room running effectively and efficiently.
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings, holidays and events.

Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of beer and a good sense of smell, skill distinguishing flavors and colors in beer.
  • A passion for craft beer, brewing, and the industry.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Responsible, reliable, honest and outgoing.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule including occasional early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holiday.
  • Good general math and cash handling skills.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching abilities.
  • Responsible for assisting with ideas/maintenance on all social media via Facebook, Twitter, BeerMenus, RateBeer, website and other media outlets and analyze trends on visitors, events, beer and merchandise.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of restaurant/bar management experience.
  • 21+ Years of Age.
  • Strong work ethic and full commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • Certified Beer Server via Cicerone is preferred.

Tasting Room Bartender
Pure Project – San Diego, CA

Pure Project is currently interviewing professionals who will proudly represent the Pure Project brand and mission with a positive, high-energy attitude and who will help provide an exceptional experience for our guests.

The primary responsibility of the bartender is to ensure all guests receive excellent beverage service. In general, every bartender will be asked to handle every task from opening to closing the bar.

  • Pour and serve beer.
  • Operate a cash register and/or POS system.
  • Proper cash handling.
  • Balance cash drawer at the end of each shift.
  • Wash and sanitize glasses/dishes.
  • Restock supplies.
  • Provide service to each guest courteously, quickly, and efficiently.
  • Suggestive selling.

Skills:
