Regional Manager – North County

The Regional Taproom Manager is responsible for the overall operations, performance, and experience within their designated taprooms. This position will oversee all FOH Team Members in their job duties ensuring their designated Taprooms run smoothly and uphold Pure Project’s standards and expectations.

The Regional Manager reports to the Hospitality Manager. The position is salary, full-time exempt, generally from Tuesday through Saturday. Must be available on evenings, weekends & holidays.

 

TAPROOM OPERATIONS:

  • Oversee all aspects of day-to-day Taproom operations, ensuring staff have the resources & information they need.
  • Responsible for creating weekly line-ups and ensuring all team members have read, understand, and are set up for success.
  • Ensure the Taproom environment (visual, audible, cleanliness & esthetics) is held up to Pure Project standards.
  • Create & update checklists (eg. cleaning, maintenance, operational and side tasks) and ensure that Supervisors are overseeing the completion of these daily.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to increase efficiency throughout all aspects of the Taprooms, and ensure that the SOPs are followed.
  • Make sure processes are in place to keep organization of the coldbox and constant stocking of product is being done correctly (FIFO).
  • Review weekly cash drops and deposits to the bank. Create change for tasting room cash drawers.
  • Support team members and overall Taproom operations when necessary.
  • Responsible for creating Taproom schedules, making adjustments, finding coverage, and approving/denying time off requests. Be efficient with scheduling to hit labor par goals, ensure Taprooms are properly staffed & profitable.
  • Review labor time entries for payroll. Correct missed clock-outs and follow up on any discrepancies, OT, or break violations.
  • Assist in identifying shrinkage and actively work towards reducing it.
  • Responsible for the completion of various maintenance and repairs. Coordinate with Hospitality Manager, Shift Supervisors, and Team Members on significant repair issues and needs.
  • Build & maintain professional relationships with vendors, property management, service providers, and community businesses.
  • Review P&Ls monthly to improve and streamline cost efficiency, as well as create/implement strategies to drive revenue.

customer service & Events:

  • Maintain a welcoming, educational, exciting, and inviting experience for all guests and Team Members. Monitor guest relations and serve as the main point of contact for guest complaints and/or special needs.
  • Engage guests in conversations, creating regulars and maximizing the customer experience. Respond promptly and appropriately to all guest requests and concerns.
  • Ensure Team Members are treating guests up to Pure Project standards.
  • Ensure the TapRoom environment (visual, audible, cleanliness & esthetics) is following Pure Project standards.
  • Maintain the highest level of customer service and professionalism with guests, management, and co-workers.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and assist as needed with ensuring all shifts are appropriately staffed.
  • Check Yelp/Google Reviews providing positive/negative feedback when needed. Increase review averages.
  • Participate in event planning and support, manage resources, and contribute to the creation of special events and promotions.
  • Work with Marketing to promote tasting room events, community events, and specials to help increase the flow of traffic to the location.

leadership & education:

  • Manage Supervisors’ & Team Members’ performance of essential job functions and ensure they have appropriate resources.
  • Provide mentorship and constant communication for Shift Supervisor(s), as well as Team Members, to promote growth and desired work ethic.
  • Guide FOH leadership and Team Members about expectations, make sure they are clear, and hold everyone accountable for living up to Pure Project standards.
  • Conduct yearly performance reviews and frequent check-ins with all Team Members.
  • Manage team members’ performance with training, coaching, counseling, and/or any disciplinary actions needed.
  • Educate team members and be knowledgeable of Pure Project products, history, stories, & ethos. Attend training and educational events put on by Pure or craft beer industry.
  • Constantly promote a positive and healthy work environment for all Team Members.
  • Assist HR and HM in bringing new team members on board to the FOH department and offboarding them if they are not performing their job duties and living up to expectations.
  • Work with Hospitality & Operation Manager on company-wide and department initiatives.
  • Work with Human Resources and HM on the recruiting & hiring of new Team Members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • At least two years of Management experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
  • Proficient in department budgeting and labor efficiency.
  • Ability to read and understand legal and contractual documents.
  • Proven record of creating strategies to increase revenue.
  • Possess demonstrated leadership and team-building skills.
  • Possess and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Possess and demonstrate excellent conflict resolution skills.
  • Possess basic math skills and excellent cash handling skills.
  • Superior knowledge of beer and the craft beer industry.
  • Possess strong knowledge and enforcement of ABC laws.
  • Possess awareness of local, state, and federal health and sanitation laws.
  • Able to communicate effectively through verbal, written, and tech-based platforms.
  • Able to lift heavy objects (25 – 50 lbs.) on a continual basis. Able to transport up to 162 lbs. (full ½ bbl keg) without assistance and use the correct lifting techniques. Able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for up to 8 hours per shift. Able to work in crowded and confined spaces.
  • Able to operate or able to quickly learn to operate a POS system.
  • Proficient in Google Suite and familiar with inventory management platforms.
  • Able to maintain excellent customer service and a professional appearance suitable for guest interaction while working under pressure.
