Bottle Release: Familiar Faces & Madeline

Fall has arrived, and so has our newest PSL-inspired imperial stout. Also making its sixth return is everybody’s favorite barrel-aged mixed fermentation saison.

The bottles will be released on Thursday, October 14th at all four taproom locations as well as for California shipping. Check out all the details below.

 

 

BEER DETAILS

FAMILIAR FACES

Imperial Stout with Pumpkin, Spices, Coffee, & Lactose
11% ABV

Introducing Familiar Faces, our adult alternative to the PSL. This imperial stout is made with organic Sugar Pie pumpkins from J.R. Organics in Escondido, a bevy of autumnal spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and ginger), a blend of Brazilian and Colombian coffee roasted by Steady State, and lactose. The addition of lactose contributes to a silky mouthfeel and full body, and its taste is akin to perfectly steamed latte milk. With flavors reminiscent of a freshly baked pumpkin roll, milk chocolate, and warm baking spices, this imperial stout tastes like fall.

MADELINE

Oak Barrel-Aged Mixed Fermentation Saison
7% ABV

We proudly present our sixth batch of Madeline, one of the very first beers we ever brewed at Pure Project. Inspired by the rustic farmhouse saisons of Belgium, Madeline is a blend of mixed fermentation saisons aged in French oak barrels. We started with one base beer, separated it to barrel-age with three different mixed cultures, and then blended these three beers back into the final product in bottles. One of the cultures we use is a native California wild yeast, domesticated from unpasteurized apple juice from Northern California. The cultures in Madeline have changed a bit over time, but they ultimately produce a light and effervescent brew with classic essences of farmhouse funk. Golden straw in color, batch #6 is complemented by aromas and flavors of hay, white peach, and light lemon acidity over a beautiful background of oak.

TAPROOM RELEASE DETAILS

The bottles will be released at all four taproom locations on Thursday, October 14th. They will be released online at 9am, and they will be available for pickup at all four taproom locations when our taprooms open at 12pm (Miramar, Balboa Park, and Carlsbad) and 3pm (Vista). In other words, you can purchase online OR in person, but please note the bottles will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis starting with the online orders at 9am.

If you would like to order and pay online for pickup, please place your order at the location where you plan to pickup.

• Your order is not complete until you check out (no orders are held in shopping cart).
• At time of purchase you can select your pickup day: same day, next day, or two days out. You must pick up on your selected day and time.
• If you would like to designate someone else to pickup your order, please place your online order under their name. The name of the person picking up needs to match the name on the order.

A limited amount of both bottles will be released online for California shipping at 9am on Thursday, October 14th. They will be sold on a first-come-first-served basis.
